如果是以黃金存摺、黃金撲滿投資，由於都是透過銀行買賣黃金，並以存摺登入買賣交易紀錄，所以國稅局在認定上，黃金存摺的獲利都屬於個人財產交易所得。例如小明購買了7萬元黃金，並以15萬賣出，則賺到的8萬元就必須照財產交易所得併入當年的所得總額。不過，如果是以虧損5萬元收場，虧損的金額可在未來3年內申報扣抵財產交易所得。

黃金基金部分，由於國內可買到的黃金基金多為境外基金，因此投資者若是國內居住者，則相關的黃金基金所得，國稅局都會列為「海外所得」，若收益超過100萬元，就必須併入基本所得額計算。

至於黃金期貨部分，目前國內期貨免稅，但如果是國際黃金期貨交易所賺取的所得，超過100萬元還是會被國稅局列為海外所得，且併入基本所得額計算。
